Thursday May 7th

Apparently I forgot to blog yesterday...that's twice in one week I've forgotten.  Yikes.  I'm not going to lie, the chaos of our school musical has invaded every facet of school...and my brain.  My apologies.  Yesterday was a little crazy, but we did rehearse and perform several times.....

Today it seems like a lot of us are still pretty 'amped up' from last nights performance.

Here is what we're doing (or have done).

Period 1 - Red light, Read aloud (new book, Holes).  We did a reader's workshop on the importance of setting.

Period 2 was writing, we continued to work on our slideshows...we're finally getting some finished products...hopefully next week we can begin to present.

Period 3 we stayed outside for a bit, when we came in, we got to play with the gifts Mr. Hummel made for us on his 3D printer for 'May the 4th' day.  

Period 4 is music with Mrs. Haynes.

Period 5 we have computer buddies.  We're going to have computer buddies with the Grade 1's.  We're going to help them work on their 'community helper' slideshows.

Period 6 I have to go to a meeting but I have put on 3 questions from Knowledgehook.  Then they'll have more time to work on their slideshows...and if Mrs. D wants to at the end, reward them with some free time...I'll leave that in her capable hands.

Tuesday May 5th

 I just realized I forgot to blog yesterday...my apologies.  

Monday May 4th:  We did stuff.

Today:

Period 1-Rehearsal for the big performance

Period 2 - French

Period 3 and 4 is math....we'll look very closely at the decimal....and what it does and where it belongs and how to line up addition questions with the decimal in the correct spot.

Period 5 is science...we'll finally learn about photosynthesis.

Period 6 I'll get the chromebooks and we'll continue working on our Choose Your Own Adventure Slideshows. 

May 1st

 May?  Seriously?  Where has the year gone?

Here is what we did today:

Period 1- Red light, read aloud, and desk swap.

Period 2 -we began work on our own choose your own adventure slideshows.

Period 3 -it was sunny and beautiful outside...we stayed outside.

Period 4 -we came in and place a class wide blooket...Mr. Cross won (I've still got it!).  Then we did 2 missions on Knowledgehook.  Kids are really starting to get counting money.

Period 5 is going to be some free time.

Period 6 is gym with Mr. D.

Wednesday April 29th

 Here is the plan for today:

Period 1- Music, Mrs Haynes.

Period 2 - Read aloud, look at some examples of last years Choose Your Own Adventures.

Period 3 - Math - counting money!

Period 4-6 -Swim to Survive.  Last one!

Tuesday April 28th

 Here is the plan for today:

Period 1- Red light, read aloud, and begin to think about making our own 'Choose Your Own Adventure' stories.

Period 2 - French, Mr. Woolley.

Period 3 -if it's nice, maybe outside for a bit?  More likely we stay inside and learn about photosynthesis...

Period 4 - I leave for a workshop and Mrs. Benison comes in for Math- still working on counting money.

Period 5 and 6 Mrs. Benison has some cool 'Minecraft' selfie art planned!

Monday April 27th

 Here is the plan for today...Friday Schedule!

Period 1 - Red light, read aloud, weekend round up, and finish up some math/nets work.

Period 2 -we'll head to the library to finish our would you rather slide shows.

Period 3 - we'll enjoy the weather for a bit and come in and start remember the different coins and values of Canadian money. 

Period 4 -we'll so some work and I'll post some questions on Math prodigy.

Period 5 is science...we'll look at how plants make their food (photosynthesis).

Period 6 is gym (Friday Schedule)

Reminder - Wednesday is our last 'Swim to Survive'...

Thursday April 23rd

 Here is the plan for today:

Period 1-Red light, read aloud (choose your own adventure), finish planning our would you rather slideshows.

Period 2 - we'll use the chromebooks to make our would you rather slideshows.

Period 3 -we'll stick around outside to do our 'earth day clean up' as we didn't have time yesterday (sorry Earth...but I'd like to believe every day is earth day)

Period 4 is music with Mrs. Haynes.

Period 5 -is buddies....we'll be using Google's 'music lab' today....should be noisy but fun.

Period 6 - we'll head back outside for our last relay tryouts....

...and if I can fit some math/making nets in at some point...even better!
