Period 3 -we'll continue to investigate 3D solids. Naming them and figuring out their edges, faces and vertices. I have some work for them to do as well.
Period 4-we'll use the chromebooks to do some more 3D work.
Period 5 - is Science. We'll look at the life cycle of a plant and dissect a kidney bean...to see what's inside.

Period 3 - It was WAY TOO NICE to stay inside.
Period 4 - We quickly talked about 3D solids and their properties (edges, faces and vertices). Then we answered a few questions on Prodigy.
Period 5 is gym (Monday Schedule).
Period 6 I did have science on the agenda...but I feel like I might pivot to 'finish up/free time'...as many kids are not quite done their math.
Here is the plan for today:
Period 1 - Red light, read aloud, reader's workshop: character motivation (how Roscuro's motivation has changed)
Period 2 - Writer's workshop: creating 'voice' through dialogue. They're going to write 2 lines of dialogue without saying who the character is...we have as a class have to decide
(e.g.., Person 1: "Good heavens! Whatever is that pungent, woolen monstrosity doing upon my pristine marble flooring? Someone fetch the Royal Tongs at once!"

Period 5 we did a bit of science...we looked at what plants need to survive (sun, water, space and food).
Period 6 French with Mrs. Benison.
Happy April Fools Day!
Here is the plan today:
Period 1 -Red light, read aloud, and reader's workshop. We compared Chiaroscuro to Despereaux. We also watched this movie: Marshmallow tree...and it fooled a couple of the kids. Period 2- Writer's workshop. We practiced using our senses to make 'the basement was scary', into something much more vivid.
Period 3 we started our unit on 2D and 3D shapes. We talked about some 2D shapes and the their properties.
Period 4 is music with Mrs. Haynes.
Period 5 and 6 we'll do some 'quadrilateral city' art. When they finish they'll be able to go on Prodigy and answer some more 2D shape questions.
Here is the plan for today: Period 1- Red light, read aloud, work on slideshows. Period 2 -French Period 3 and 4 - if it's nice we...
