October already? Wow, that went fast.
Here is the plan for today:
Period 1 -seating swap, I change the desks every month...so everyone will have a chance to work with everyone. Then we'll do reader's workshop, continuing to focus on building stamina.
Period 2 -writer's workshop, we'll come up as a class with a character we invent that could be in wayside.
Period 3 is math. We're going to scratch the surface on regrouping when adding...also called 'carrying'. We'll play a game called race to 50 to get started.
Period 4 is music.
Period 5 and 6 is Science. We'll look a little closer at the parts of a plant (stem, root, flower, leaves) and what they do (e.g., roots collect nutrients from the soil, stem carries nutrients and water to the rest of the plant, the leaves catch the sun and turn sunlight into food)
If there's any time, we may have some free time!
