April 7th

 Here is the plan for today:

Period 1: Read aloud (Holes), reader's workshop.  Mini lesson focus is on looking at how character's feelings change.

Period 2 is writer's workshop. The mini lesson will focus on 'leading by addressing the reader'.

Period 3 and 4 we'll continue on with ordered pairs, and coordinates.  We'll try these worksheets:

April 6th

 Welcome back,

Here is the plan for today...Friday Schedule.

Period 1 -read aloud, weekend round up, reader's/writer's workshop.

Period 2 -Mr. Butt for technology.

Period 3 and 4 is math.  We'll continue working on coordinate geometry.  Hopefully play some 'old school' battleship with paper and pencils...

Period 5 and 6 we have the chromebooks, and we'll hopefully play some 'new school' battleship online!

April 1st

 Happy April Fools day.

Here is the plan for today.

Period 1: I will read some Holes and the kids will do reader's workshop.

Period 2 is writers' workshop.  Inspired by yesterday's episode of Read All About It, we'll create our own Haiku's.

Period 3 and 4 we're going to do a little Easter art and begin the movie 'Hop'.

Period 5 is French with Mr. Woolley.

Period 6 we have the gym and we'll play some cooperative games.

March 31st

 Well, we made it to April!

Here is the plan for today:

Period 1: Read some more 'Holes'.  Reader's Workshop focuses on 'What's in the Bubble?" (what characters are thinking).

Period 2: Writer's workshop:  We'll focus on starting with a table of contents.

Period 3 and 4 is math.  We're going to leave fractions for a bit and talk a little about 'coordinate geometry.  We'll do these worksheets:

March 30th

 I'm back...I was just waiting for the results of Eli's Covid tests...he's negative...so all the Cross' are back to school.

Period 1 is reader's workshop.  We'll start our next read aloud, Holes.  Reader's workshop will focus on 'understanding how characters feel' (in order to help us understand the book).

Period 2 is writer's workshop.  If it's nice, we might write outside.  Our mini lesson will focus on 'ending our stories in the moment'.  

Period 3 and 4 we have the chromebooks.  We have some fraction questions to answer on Prodigy.  Then our Alice and Wonderland movie posters to finish up.

Period 5 is Mr. Butt for technology.  

Period 6 we'll discuss yesterdays episode of Read All About It and watch Chapter 8 'Tis Magic'!

March 26th

 Here is what we did today.

Period 1 we read Alice in Wonderland (picture book) and had student's choice for reader's/writer's workshop.

Period 2 was Mr. Butt for technology.

Period 3 and 4 we did some really great watercolour art.  They'll be bringing them home today.

We also watched the 'live-action' Alice and Wonderland movie.

Periods 5 and 6 we worked on designing our own 'movie poster' on Google Classroom for Alice in Wonderland and we finished watching the movie.

Period 2 Writer's workshop: Thinking of questions the reader might ask, and answering them.

Period 3 and 4 is math.

We'll do an Esti Mystery first.  Then we'll continue on with Fractions...comparing and ordering them.
