raffle basket

I just got an email reminder from Parent Council...we're still collecting donations for our raffle basket.  So far we have 2 board games, I think we could do a lot better!


April 30th

Here is what today will hopefully look like!

Period 1 -we're going to do some 'fraction work' for red light.  Then hopefully Gwyn can share her Youtube Friday video from last week.  Then it's reader's workshop.
Period 2 is writer's workshop.  We're going to look at just getting ideas on paper.

Period 3 and 4 is math.  We have the computers and I've set up some fraction questions on Math prodigy.  Then Period 4 I have some work that we didn't get to yesterday.

Period 5 I'll read aloud, perhaps practise our song for the finale and finish up any outstanding work.
Period 6 is music in the gym.

NOTE:  Grade 4's have an 'in school' presentation permission form going home today.

Monday April 29th

Here is what today should look like!

Period 1 we're going to do some ' Barbara Reid' inspired art.  We'll watch this video to get some tips:

Then it's off to music for 30 minutes.
Period 2 we'll continue with our art.

Period 3 we're going to keep working on our 'fractions of a set' work in math.
Period 4 the Grade 4's are off to music.  The Grade 3's are going to do a field trip reflection for from our trip to Ireland house.

Period 5 and 6 we'll do weekend round up...Then we'll do reader's writer's workshop.  Hopefully if there's time, I can time the Grade 4 girls...for the up coming track and field and relay meets.

Friday April 26th

Here is what we did today.

Period 1 and 2 we had our Youtube Friday videos:

The rest of period 2 we spent in our reader's/writer's workshop.

Period 3 we have gym, we'll be doing some more cooperative games.
Period 4 we're going to continue to look at Fractions of a set...unless we can sneak some computers and log onto Pixton.

Period 5 we have library.
Period 6 we French with Mr. Woolley.

April 25th

Here is what today will hopefully look like:

Period 1- Health with Mrs. Coric.
Period 2- Read aloud and reader's/writer's workshop.

Period 3 -Grade 4's to French -Grade 3's are going to learn a new piece of software called Pixton.
Period 4 -is math...we're going to look at Fractions of a set.

Period 5- weather permitting we're going to do our 'Eco Clean Up'.
Period 6 - the Grade 4's are going to do their running try outs for the upcoming track and field and relay meets.

Youtube Friday is tomorrow...I only have 3 of my 6 Grade 4's videos...get those videos in please!

April 24th

Here is what today has and should look like.

Period 1 and 2 we had a practise 'lockdown' drill.  Then we read from Holes.  The rest of period 2 was devoted to reader's/writer's workshop.

Period 3 the Grade 4's are off to French.  The Grade 3's are going to explore google drawing to show what they know about fractions.

Period 4 we're going to play a round or 2 of 'I Have, Who Has' the fraction game.  Then I have a couple of fraction worksheets for the kids to do.



Period 5 we're going to go outside for gym with Mrs. Stratford's class to time the Grade 3's...trying to figure out who will represent Glenview at the track meet and relay races. I'm trying to connect with Mrs. Flindall and Sylvester about the Grade 4 times).

Period 6 the kids have Mrs. Haynes for music.

April 23rd

Today should be a good day.

The Grade 3's are on a field trip for the first 3 periods to Ireland House.  The Grade 4's will be working on Social Studies and math with Mrs. Sylvester's Grade 4's (and 5's).

Period 4 we'll get back and debrief.  I'm hoping to start our next math unit on Fractions.

Period 5 will be weekend round up.
Period 6 is reader's/writer's workshop.
