A little bit about me!

You made it to the blog...nice!

I try to post on here everyday what we're doing/or planning to do because...if your kids are anything like mine your school conversations go something like this:

Parent:  How was school today?

Child: OK.

Parent:  What did you do today?

Child: Nothing.

So I hope this helps...and don't worry, if you don't get around to checking it...I won't get mad.

My name is Adam Cross, I’ve been teaching in Halton for the last 19 years.  I’ve taught every Grade from 2 - 6 (including all the splits in between), as well as a couple of years in a Behaviour Resource Class.  

I love reading, playing guitar and ultimate frisbee. 

I don't like fish or mushrooms. 

I’m not JUST a teacher, but also a parent too.  I have two children. My daughter, Sophie, is going into Grade 8 and my son Eli, is starting Grade 6 this year.  My wife is also a teacher and teaches Grade 1 for the Hamilton District School Board.

We have 2 cats...one is named Yahtzee and the other is named Speedo. They're both orange.

Tuesday June 22nd

 Yesterday we were at LaSalle part all day...it was lots of fun.

I hate to disappoint all my loyal reader (you know who you are).  However, I think I might shut down the blog for the remainder of the year.  It's been a wild ride thanks for all your support.  

FYI...Report Cards are coming home today.  

Friday June 21st

 Here is the plan today...

Period 1 -Red light, read aloud and chapter 12 of Read All About It.

Period 2 - Reader's/Writer's workshop -work with a friend.

Period 3 is Connect 4 round 8 and 9!

Period 4 is health with Mr. D.

Period 5 and 6 we'll do some fun 'bubble art'.

Thursday June 20th

 Period 1 & 2 - Mrs. McHaffie is in for me.  She's teaching the kids about frogs and having them do some fun paintings.

Period 3 is Mr. D for gym.

Period 4 we'll read some Camp X and watch and episode of Read All About It.

Period 5 is computer buddies with Mrs. Evers' class.

Period 6 is Round 7 of the Connect 4 tournament.

Funfair after school today...stay cool!

Wednesday June 19th

 We swam most of the day!

Tuesday June 18th

 Today was play day...we played and had fun all day!

Monday June 17th

 2 more weeks to go???

Here is the plan today:

Period 1 -red light, read aloud, weekend round up.

Period 2 -Reader's/Writer's workshop and chapter 10 of Read All About It.

Period 3 we'll have our paper airplane competition...practising converting between cm and m's.

Period 4 we'll play on math prodigy...more measurement.

Period 5 is French with Mrs. Coffin.

Period 6 we'll play round 5 of our Connect 4 tournament.

Reminder tomorrow is playday...indoors due to the heat.  Bring a towel to picnic on in the hallway.  Wednesday is our last Swim to Survive!
