Wednesday June 12th

 Here is the plan for today:

Period 1 -Read aloud, reader's workshop.

Period 2 -writer's workshop...we had a lot of fun reading tongue twisters...we never got around to writing some...a job for tomorrow!

Period 3 we're going to have a paper airplane competition and practice measuring and converting measurements (e.g., 1m 23 cm = 123cm).

Period 4 we might sneak outside for a bit of extra time.

Period 5 is music with Mrs. Haynes.

Period 6 we'll watch episode 7 of Read All About It.

Good Luck to all our Track and Field friends today (Go Finn, Jackson, Ava, Brooke and Lennon!). 

Tuesday June 11th

 Here is what we did today

Period 1 -Read aloud (Camp X).  Reader's workshop.

Period 2 -We did some Alphabet Antics and Writer's workshop.

Period 3 we played outside with the other Grade 3s.

Period 4 we learned a little more about Soil.

Period 5 we have worked hard so we'll enjoy some free time.

Period 6 is Music with Mrs. Haynes.

Monday June 10th

 Here is the plan for today:

Period 1 -Red light, Read aloud, Weekend Round Up

Period 2 -Reader's /Writer's workshop - We're going to talk about finding the 'main idea' of a story and proper closing sentences.  I've put some work on English Prodigy to complete.

Period 3 -we're going to go back and review some addition strategies.  

Period 4 I want to show the kids a quick video about 'dirt' and hopefully get them outside for a little bit. 

Period 5 is French with Mrs. Coffin.

Period 6 we'll dive into 'week 2' of the scrabble tournament.  

Friday June 7th

 Here is the plan for today:

Period 1 -Red light, Reader's /Writer's workshop...student choice.

Period 2- Round 1 of the Connect 4 tournament.

Period 3 -We'll start the One and Only Ivan.

Period 4 -Health with Mr. D.

Period 5 and 6 we'll finish The One and Only Ivan movie and do some art inspired by the book/movie.

Thursday June 6th

 Here is the plan for today.

Period 1 - Red light, read aloud, then seating swap.  Since it's June and we're done EQAO and we've been awesome the whole year....I'm going to attempt to let the kids pick their own spots...after a very thorough discussion about inclusivity and responsibility.

Period 2 will be reader's/writer's workshop - Student choice today.

Period 3 is gym with Mr. D.

Period 4 is social studies...we'll talk a little about soil composition...like the soil core we saw at Crawford lake yesterday!

Period 5 is computer buddies...we'll be working on a Google Drawing that shows a multiplication or division word problem.

Period 6 will be free time/book exchange.

Wednesday June 5th

 Crawford lake field trip all day!

The class was great.  Ask us about the long houses, 3 sisters garden, lacrosse or the meromictic lake.

Thanks to the volunteers that were able to help (and the ones that offered to help but we didn't have room for).

Tuesday June 4th

 Here is the plan for today:

Period 1 -Red light, Read aloud, Weekend Round Up.

Period 2 -Reader's/Writer's workshop...student choice (like a Monday).

Period 3 -we'll review multiplication and division.  I've also posted a lot of questions on Math Prodigy.

Period 4 -we'll head outside with the other Grade 3's.

Period 5 -we'll do some social studies...comparing live in 1800 to life now.

Period 6 is Music with Mrs. Haynes.

Reminder, tomorrow is our field trip to Crawford Lake...check the weather and pack accordingly.
