Here is the plan for today:
Period 1 -Red light, Read aloud, Hyperbole work, and reader's workshop.
Period 2 writer's workshop. Hopefully finish Hockey Songs.
Period 3 and 4 is math. We'll finish reading the book 'Buffalo Bird Girl' from yesterday and then do some more mixed operations work.
Period 5 is gym with Mr. D.
Period 6 I'll leave open for 'finish up'....I think at some point we'll be outside with the other Grade 3's to finish up Ball Throw tryouts.
Here is the plan for today:
Period 1 we'll read aloud The Rats of Nimh. Then share highlights of our weekends during 'weekend round up'.
Period 2 we'll look a little more at hyperboles, do some work on them, then use the rest of the time for reader's/writer's workshop
Period 3 I'm hoping to do a little social studies. Talk about how life would've been different in the 1890's, then listen to a first nations story called 'Buffalo Bird Girl' and talk about life in the 1890's for some first nation groups.
Period 4 we'll do a little more EQAO practise on knowledgehook and math prodigy.
Period 5 is music with Mrs. Haynes
Period 6 I think we will join Mr. Butt's class and watch the final episode of Read All About It.
REMINDER - this Wednesday is Swim to Survive.
Here is the plan for today:
Period 1 is music with Mrs. Haynes.
Period 2 is reader's/writer's workshop. We'll hopefully finish working on our Hockey Song overtime verses. Maybe even sing and record a few?
Period 3 is math. We'll finish up our mixed operations work from yesterday. 200 questions!
Period 4 we'll do a little science. We'll look at why soil is important.
Period 5 and 6 I'm hoping to do a little EQAO practise, some social studies, and if we have time...possibly some Long Jump practise.

Period 1 all the Grade 3's are going to go outside and practise 'Ball Throw'.
Period 2 we'll come in. Read aloud and practise some more EQAO sample tests:

Period 3 is math...we're going to do some 'mixed operations' math...just reviewing multiplication/division/addition and subtraction. After they're done their work, I've set up some questions on Math prodigy.
Period 4 is Health with Mr. D.
Period 5 and 6 we're going to some social studies and hopefully watch episode 19 of Read All About It.
What a glorious long weekend...back to the grind.
Period 1 we'll do a read aloud, the Set Game and Weekend Round Up.
Period 2 is reader's/writer's workshop. I'm hoping we can have some people present their choose your own adventure stories.
Period 3 and 4 is math. We'll finally design our own spinners and try and figure out the theoretical vs. experimental probability.
Period 5 is Music with Mrs. Haynes.
Period 6 I'm going to leave open for some free time/finish up.
*Reminder - tomorrow we head to Aldershot pool for our first 'swim to survive' session. Make sure you bring your bathing suits.
I wasn't here yesterday because I was getting my braces put on...gulp!
Period 1 -music.
Period 2 -reader's/writer's workshop - We'll hopefully continue work on our 'Hockey Song' re-writes.
Period 3 and 4 is math. First we'll play a game of SKUNK. Then, we'll be designing our own spinners. Then testing the theoretical vs. experimental probability. If there is time, we'll try to get outside for a bit.
Period 5 we'll watch episode 18 of Read All About It, the Planet of Maze (my personal favourite).
Period 6 I'm hoping to get outside to collect some soil samples and come back in to examine them.
Here is what the plan is for today:
Period 1 - Reader's workshop. We talked a bit more about figurative vs. literal language. We had some fun with idioms, metaphors and similes.
Period 2 was writer's workshop. We started working on our own 'overtime' verse to the Hockey Song.
Period 3 is French with Madam O'Neil.
Period 4 we'll talk a bit about our next probability experiment (create your own spinner). Then we'll go outside for a little extra time.
Period 5 we have buddies with Mrs. Evers class and work on their animal slideshows.
Period 6 we have book exchange. We'll do some coding ...and maybe even a little free time.
